Book Reviews for a Healthy Lifestyle

g Implications for Diet,
Weight Loss and Long-Term Health

By: T. Colin Campbell
PHD and Thomas M. Campbell II

Without being too dramatic, I believe this book might have extended my life for many years as I was on the road to personal destruction from a health and nutrition standpoint. Dr. Dean Ornish states, “Everyone in the field of nutrition science stands on the shoulders of Dr. Campbell, who is one of the giants in the field. This is one of the most important books about nutrition ever written—reading it may save your life. The forward and introduction is more than worth the price of the book. A must read for anyone concerned about their health.

The Yogic Prescription for Health and Healing

By: Timothy McCall, M.D.

If you care about your body and want to learn to listen more carefully to its messages, and to take good care of it over the long haul, you will find this book a godsend, whether you are young, middle age or old. It is the first comprehensive medical look at the benefits of yoga and its therapeutic uses. I am not talking about “power yoga” or “hot yoga”, I am talking about yoga where anyone of any age can participate and it will be beneficial and help control numerous health issues. Dr. Timothy McCall tells you that he is a middle aged board-certified specialist in internal medicine and yoga has changed his life. The more he practices, the greater the rewards. Not only were there numerous physical benefits but also mental and psychological benefits as well. Although there are more than a hundred scientific studies that have found yoga to be an effective treatment for a variety of medical problems, from heart disease to carpel tunnel syndrome, most of this work is unknown to the average doctor. Find out why Dr. McCall’s patients take less medication and their health issues are disappearing. Who would of thought that at 64 years of age I would be doing yoga and teaching yoga class for seniors. Great book!

A Guide to Living Life with Energy,
Health and Vitality

By: Rosemary Gladstar

Rosemary Gladstar has been one of America’s favorite and foremost Herbalist’s for over 30 years. I was fortunate a few years ago to have some training in the art of using herbs to promote good health, including taking an extensive course in herbology by Rosemary Gladstar. The use of herbs in various forms such as teas, tinctures, supplement capsules, compresses, cooking and eating raw in their natural state, gives the body powerful nutrients and the ability to heal itself. Herbs for medicinal purposes have been around for over 5,000 years and 80% of the countries in the world still use herbs as their primary method of healing. I view the use of herbs as the cornerstone of natural medicine and when properly used will help and inspire you and your family to achieve radiant well-being and enjoy a well-lived life. Herbalism is an effective, natural, and inexpensive system of healing readily available to every human who chooses to use it. We have eons of human experience to prove it. One of the best natural medicine books and every home should have a copy and “USE IT” to promote a healthy lifestyle.
